Veniero’s
I just read an article that Veneiro’s on the LES was closed down by the Department of Health. Reminded me of this picture that I took like a year ago. It’s a sticker saying that the restaurant is closed down by the DOH for reasons like rat shit or roach infestation.
Anyway, I walked by the place everyday on my way to work and they were re-opened in less than a week from the time that sticker was put up…. but with a new name!
Being the suckers for quick and cheap lunches, my coworker and I finally went back there last week to check it out…. again. Same old tables and chairs. Same brown stained walls. Same dirty workers with hair growing out of their moles.
But they did have a new awning that said Lin’s, instead of Chen’s!
As for the food… it was as delicious as ever. My beef & broc was a little crunchy, but still delicious. Yum.
